What We Do

Matt Wenborn

We have 3 roles to play in order to provide you with value:

  • Understand you.  What is important and what do you want to do?  What do you want for your life and what do you want in your life?  What lifestyle do you want and what is your financial purpose?

  • Understand the numbers. This is where we put numbers around your life.  Sometimes, it’s called financial planning, but essentially, we figure out “how much” is enough and how to get on track for that.

  • Understand what to do with your money. This is the “advice” part and where many advisers start. We provide recommendations for which financial products best serve your needs and how to gain access to them.

Why We Do What We Do

Cam Irvine

Matt Wenborn CFPcm
Retirement Planner

Financial advice doesn't have to be complicated.  Taking the complex and simplifying it into plain speak is the main reason why I joined the industry.  Discovering a clients purpose for investing is also at the core of how I operate.  If I don't understand you, I can't advise you about your money.

I am one of approximately 230 CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER's in New Zealand.  I am also extremely honored to be recognized as the 2022 Tate Scholarship Award Winner

Outside of being a Financial Planner, you will find me spending as much time as possible with my beautiful family, Sarah (my wife) and Winnie, Poppy & Maddi (my daughters).  If I'm not with them, then it is most likely I will be reliving my youth either at the Prebbleton cricket nets rolling my arm over or listening to some 80's hair bands.

I also work as a Relationship Loss Specialist, which you can read more about here.

Cam Irvine CFPcm, CIMA®, CRPC®, BSBA
Expat Planning & Property Divestment Specialist

I'm an American but think of myself as a Kiwi that was just born in the wrong country, so I moved with my wife to New Zealand in 2019 and never looked back. I'm loud, I love to learn and teach. I started in finance in 2014, working for one of the most successful mutual fund managers in the US.

I do a couple of things:

1. The technical stuff: neurology, how money decisions affect your brain, learning-theory, analysis, break-even calculations, how to optimise portfolios, and understanding the nitty-gritty of investments. The kind of things that most people find boring are just what I love to talk about. There are few things that I enjoy more than a deep conversation with someone.

2. Pictures. I believe that drawings make it easier to understand financial concepts. I am no artist, I'm a simple guy, however, I like to use drawings to make sense of the convoluted financial industry. The idea of “a picture is worth 1000 words" gets said, but I want to put it to practice.

I've been fortunate enough to  gain some accreditations which has allowed me to become the only financial adviser in NZ that is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERcm/® (CFPcm) in both NZ and the US, a Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®), and a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™/ (CRPC®).

I specialise in working with expats and also those that have most/all their wealth tied to property.
