  • Financial Planning

  • Retirement Planning

  • Investment Advice & Wealth Management (including strategic asset allocation, investment recommendations, and cash management)

  • KiwiSaver Advice

  • Expat Planning

  • Estate Planning

We are not tied to any product provider, and the specific details of providers we recommend will be detailed in our advice documentation.

4. Fees and Expenses

We do not charge for an initial meeting where we get to know each other. This enables clients to fully vet our advice and see if it is valuable to work together, before being signing any advice or application forms.

Any fee charged to you subsequently will depend on the nature and scope of the advice or service we provide. We will discuss and agree on the actual fees with you before we proceed and explain how they are payable.

Our typical initial planning/implementation fees range from $0 to $4,000 + GST. Irvine Wenborn charges an ongoing advice or servicing fee of up to 1% of funds under management. The fees charged for our initial advice and ongoing services may be based on a combination of a set dollar amount or a percentage-based fee. A quotation will be provided to you for approval before the services are provided. The quotation can at times allow for flexibility of the payment terms.

We do also offer fee-for-service planning which is based on an hourly rate, and we do not custody any financial assets or oversee the management directly.

5. Conflicts of Interest

Irvine Wenborn does not have any preferential terms (other than those readily offered to other market participants) or production performance agreements with any particular product provider.

Irvine Wenborn does not have any commercial relationships or contractual arrangements that present any particular conflict of interest to consumers generally which would be reasonably likely to materially influence us in providing the financial adviser service. We are not required to place any level of business with any supplier or financial organisation.  We do not have any other financial or other relationship with any other person that would be reasonably likely to influence us in giving advice. We may pay a founders fee to professionals who have referred clients to us, and those clients have chosen to proceed with the engagement.

For investments and portfolio management, Irvine Wenborn and the financial adviser will charge a fee for any investments we recommend and monitor for you in the way of an Adviser servicing fee if you proceed.  This will be a percentage amount based on your funds under management. For KiwiSaver, Irvine Wenborn and the financial adviser may receive commissions from the KiwiSaver providers who we recommend.  If you proceed with the recommendations, the KiwiSaver provider may pay a trail income to Irvine Wenborn, this amount is based on your funds under management.

To ensure that our financial advisers prioritise the client’s interests above their own, we follow an advice process that ensures our personalised recommendations are made on the basis of the client’s goals and circumstances, as advised to us. Irvine Wenborn financial advisers complete regular training, including how to manage conflicts of interest. Each adviser has a regular compliance review of their advice process and our compliance programme is reviewed every two years by our external compliance adviser.
